Hanuman's life is not complete in any one text. The birth and the powers are in Valmiki's Kishkindha Kanda; the Lanka story has already appeared in the Sundara and Yuddha Kandas from the Ramayana's own angle, and here the same events are told from Hanuman's side. The pearl necklace, Ahiravana and Patala are not in Valmiki — they come from later texts and tradition, and each episode says where it comes from.
